Not only do you not have to bake these bars but they are also packed with protein. You can use any type of protein powder for this recipe. I used my favorite organic plant based chocolate protein powder made by Orgain.

For the chocolate I used organic 73% cacao super dark chocolate. Since cocoa is rich in antioxidants it makes dark chocolate healthy right?

To prevent the protein powder from clumping I added ¼ cup of plant milk to my protein powder and mixed together in a separate bowl before adding the additional ingredients.

I used a 8 inch brownie dish pan for my dark chocolate oat bars. Using parchment paper allowed an easy removal from the pan.

These bars will last for a week in your fridge wrapped up.

  3. Add the protein powder mixture, chia seeds and oats to the pan. Stir together forming a thick batter.
  4. Transfer the mixture to your square 8 inch pan.
  5. Press oat bar mixture to the pan using a spoon. Make sure the mixture evenly spread.
  6. After placing the bars in the freezer for 10 minutes remove and slice into bars.
  7. Leftovers will last for up to two weeks in your fridge or in the freezer for a month
Make it Your Own
  • Add a little extra by drizzling peanut butter or melted dark chocolate to the top of your bars.
  • Don’t have a square 8 inch baking pan? Divide your mixture into bite size balls and freeze making dark chocolate oat balls.
  • Substitute peanut butter for another nut butter.
