#AD Looking for a tasty recipe to make during your grill nights this summer? Make these grilled garlic and herb tofu tacos. Filled with grilled tofu seasoned with McCormick’s Grill Mates Roasted Garlic and Herb seasoning, corn, avocado, spinach, and fresh cilantro. These bold flavored tacos are easy and simple to make!
Sharing a flavorful meal outdoors with family and friends is one of my favorite things to do during the summertime. Not only is the weather perfect for outings, but me and my husband definitely put the grill to use. I wanted to create a simple inspired summer meal that you could share with loved ones on a beautiful filled evening.
All of the ingredients that I used for this recipe are wholesome and my family loves them. To make these tofu tacos even more flavorful I used McCormick’s Grill Mates Roasted Garlic and Herb seasoning. One of the things that I love about this seasoning is that a little goes a long way. The taste of bold flavors really stands out! Make this entire meal gluten-free by switching out the flour tortillas for corn tortillas.
HOW TO GRILL YOUR TOFU
- Take the tofu out of the package and drain excess water. Rinse the tofu and pat dry using a paper towel.
- Place the tofu on 2 paper towels or a clean kitchen towel and put it on a plate.
- Add 2-3 heavy ceramic bowls on top of the tofu. The weight of the bowls will not squish or break the tofu but will simply just push the majority of the water out of the tofu. Let the tofu release the excess water for 20-30 minutes.
- Cut tofu into bite size pieces. If you like extra crispy tofu, cut them into thin small pieces.
- Sprinkle the McCormick Grill Mates Roasted Garlic and Herb Seasoning on the tofu covering both sides.
- Heat your cast iron grill pan on medium heat. Once hot, spray with oil. Add the seasoned tofu pieces on your grill.
- Grill tofu for 5 minutes, flip, and cook for an additional 5 minutes or until the outside is crispy. Take tofu off the grill immediately and set aside.
I sprinkled 2 tablespoons of this bold and exciting McCormick’s Grill Mates Roasted Garlic and Herb seasoning on my grilled tofu. However, if you want to add even more tofu, double the amount of seasoning. I don’t recommend adding salt and pepper to your tofu if you are using this seasoning. It already packs a lot of flavor.
Toppings that I used for these tacos :
- Grilled corn
- Avocado
- Fresh spinach
- Fresh cilantro
- Green onion
If you do not have these ingredients you can make it your own by substituting or adding additional ingredients to your tacos. Some other toppings that I recommend are jalapenos, romaine lettuce, thinly sliced cabbage, red onion, roasted cauliflower, or tomatoes.
Substitutions
I wanted to share some of the recipe ingredients that you can swap out in case you do not have the ones I listed in your pantry or refrigerator.
Extra Firm Tofu- Firm or high protein tofu
Mini flour tortillas- Mini corn or whole wheat tortillas
Spray oil- Neutral oil spread evenly on the cast iron grill pan.
Cast iron grill pan- Outdoor grill
Ear of corn- canned corn
Vegetables- Use what you have in your refrigerator.
These Grilled Garlic and Herb Tofu Tacos are:
Kid friendly
Simple and easy
Packed with flavor
Can be made gluten-free
When you make these tacos I would love it if you would snap a photo of your food and share it with me on instagram @itsallgoodvegan.com. I can’t wait to see how you like it!
